The company has installed a solar PV system, conducted a detailed energy audit, and implemented energy-efficient solutions to maintain the energy efficiency of their equipment on-site.
Agenda – 10,000 Customised LED Lights and 13 Chillers Installed at TF AMD Microeletronics
As a large energy consumer, TF AMD Microelectronics (Penang) Sdn Bhd aimed to reduce operating expenditure while contributing to a more sustainable future. To achieve this, subsequent to a detailed energy audit conducted by EFS, leasing arrangement for 10,000 customised LED lightings and energy performance contract in relation to replacing and maintaining 13 chillers were entered between TF AMD and EFS. Under aforesaid contracts, EFS will invest and maintain the equipment throughout the contract period without needing TF AMD to invest in new energy saving equipment. Separately, in line with their commitment to sustainability by sourcing renewable energy, TF AMD has achieved so by having a solar PV system installed under a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with EFS MySolar Sdn Bhd. This 3 MWp solar PV system generates 4,206 MWh of solar power and offsets 3,286 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.
